Many people have asked me why Billtrust hasn’t responded to one of our competitors who is blatantly misstating facts about our company. My response is that I’m so intrigued by their marketing strategy. Billtrust is solely focused on serving its clients and delivering the most innovative AR solutions that deliver positive business outcomes.

This competitor’s strategy is not working out very well for them. We see it in the mass of enterprises who are leaving them in droves and coming to Billtrust. Why? The overwhelming reason is that customers have not had a good experience with them and don’t feel supported. They’ve also told us that their solution isn’t delivering on what was promised or the business outcomes customers expect.

This shouldn’t come as a surprise, as analyst firm Gartner very clearly warned enterprises about this company in the Magic Quadrant for Invoice-to-Cash Applications, published in May of 2024. Gartner listed the following biggest cautions or ‘weaknesses’ for said competitor:

  1. Lack of innovation: Lowest revenue per employee ratio indicating they have limited product innovation impacting their ability to grow revenue.
  2. Lack of customer support: Higher turnover in employees than their peer group and reduced staffing in key functions such as sales, marketing, implementation and customer support.
  3. Poor product implementation: Clients report severe delays in implementation and lack of preparation support, timeliness or readiness checks.

Do those attributes describe a company you want to do business with? Do they build confidence in making a career defining decision that puts your reputation on the line? Does this sound like a company who puts their customers at the center of everything they do? Well, you know the answer to that.
